ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD
To avoid the possibility of electrical shock, open all disconnects before installing or servicing equipment.

GENERAL
These instructions are for the installation of the accessory junction box assembly hard wire kit for permanently connecting 265-v packaged terminal air conditioner units. The accessory is required for 265-v units. If a non-electrical accessory subbase (see Step 8) is needed for support of the unit, it must be ordered separately from the factory.

Accessory Kit Contents - One flexible conduit assembly with covered junction box and male amp connector plug.

ELECTRICAL
Refer to unit nameplate for branch circuit electrical requirements. All wiring must comply with local and national electrical code requirements.

INSTALLATION

WARNING
Disconnect all power to unit to avoid possible electrical shock during installation.

1. Disconnect all power to unit.
2. Remove front panel of air conditioner or heat pump according to instructions shipped with unit.
3. Remove wiring access opening cover plate from bottom front of control box. See Fig. 1. Discard cover plate; save screw for use in Step 5.

8. Using field-supplied screws, mount junction box inside the accessory non-electrical subbase (if used) according to NEC (National Electrical Code), UL (Underwriters' Laboratories), and local code requirements. If subbase is not used, junction box may be mounted on wall.
9. Replace the unit front panel.
10. If all other unit installation steps have been completed, power to unit can now be turned on.

TO REMOVE CHASSIS FROM SLEEVE FOR SERVICING

WARNING
To avoid the possibility of electrical shock, be sure to disconnect electrical power at the main fuse or circuit breaker before removing the unit chassis from its wall sleeve.

CAUTION
Because the chassis is heavy, to avoid the possibility of personal injury or equipment damage, you should obtain help when removing and lifting the chassis.

1. Disconnect all power to unit.
2. Remove the front panel.
3. Unscrew and detach hard wire kit cover plate. See Fig. 2.
4. Disconnect the plug connections.
5. Remove the 4 screws securing chassis to wall sleeve (2 screws in each side angle).
